About the artist
Hi, I’m Johnny.
I am the artist. Welcome to the world I create on canvas.
If anyone were to measure my artistic talent for most of my life, they would have measured it a true zero! I admired artwork and notable artists, but never dreamed that I could actually learn how to paint. I couldn’t even draw. Then, somewhere along the way, I discovered Bill Alexander and Alexander Art. Now, I am so excited every time I approach my canvas!
Bill Alexander, “The Happy Painter,” always said: “Don’t be afraid of that canvas! Just fire in!” Since meeting Bill, I have done just that. I have learned to use the creative power that God has given me to create majestic mountain vistas, churning seascapes, and inspiring sunsets.
Be still, and know.
The human soul yearns for rest, meditation, and peaceful reflection. My goal is to create scenes from nature that give us reason to pause and reflect on the beauty and grandeur of God’s creation.
These breathtaking scenes of primitive beauty that I create on canvas are intended to leave the viewer with a question and a longing deep within: When can I go there? Take me there!
As my mentor often said:
“Up there! Up there! I want to be up there!”
I sincerely hope that you enjoy my paintings as much as I enjoyed creating them.
